Sometimes I forget that I have sarcoidosis and that although I am managing my condition , that damage done to my lunges by the sarcoidosis nodules are permanent and non reversible .
So, although my fitness level improves I will always limited in my breathing.
This is very frustrating situation.
I forget very often that I have this physical disability and compare my fitness abilities to others.
Of course it's a good thing as well because in these moments of "high" I "forget" my physical limitations. I am all well too reminded when I get a stabbing sensation in my upper back (lungs) or a pain in my chest : I know then I have pushed myself too far ...
Finding the balance is what I am aiming for : push myself just enough but not too the limits.
When trying to achieve balance, from my personal and professional experience, you should target and focus on the following areas in your life:
- Nutrition > what you feed you body can feed or starve sarcoidosis . Don't hesitate to get in touch for a 1:1 skype consult
- Supplementation complements anti-inflammation eating plan
- Exercise > brings fresh oxygen to the body / cells and boost feel-good hormones
- Lifestyle stress > a BIG one !!!!! focus on the positive as much as possible and stay away from unnecessary stressful situations + add some feel good everyday holistic experiences such as massage, movement to music, meeting up with friends...
